OBITUARIES/LOCAL Jared Huelsmann receives Sr. WATCH THIS SPOT FOR Miriam Coovert/Litteken SchOlarship G REAT Mater Dei Catholic High School announces that Jared V. Huelsmann has been awarded the Sr. Miriam Coovert/Litteken Scholarship. Jailed is the son of Vernon and Janice Huelsmann of Trenton and is a member of St. Mary Parish, Trenton. Jared graduated .with honors from All Saints Academy in Breese in May. At All Saints Academy, Jared was a member of the Chorus, participated in the History Fair and was a finalist for the area spelling bee. He was chosen as a Student-of- the-Month during his .eighth grade year. Mrs. Terri Voss, Principal at All Saints Academy, said "Jared's positive attitude and Christian ideals will be a positive influence in any school. Mater Dei will be fortunate to have Jared as a member of its school community." Jared writes in his essay that he is very thankful to be able to continue his Catholic education. Jared's future plans are to go to college and pursue a degree in agriculture. Recipients of this award must possess qualities of good citizen- ship and leadership throughout their grade school years. It is also important that the student models a strong work ethic in what he or she does and has a Strong desire to be part of the Mater Dei program of quality Catholic education. This schol- arship is intended to provide a young person the opportunity to strengthen his or her fhith in God. A key component of this award is that the student understand the importance of service to others throughout their lives. The scholarship application included a letter of recommen- dation from the grade school principal or parish pastor as well as an essay explaining why the student wanted to attend Mater Dei Catholic High School. Mr. and Mrs. ALloys Litteken established the Sr. Miriam Coovert Scholarship in 1999 to honor Sr. Miriam Coovert. Mr. Litteken and his wife Carol (Eil- ermann) are 1959 graduates of Mater Dei and are privileged to offer this tribute to their former teacher and counselor, Sr. Miri- am Coovert, SSNDI Now deceased, Sr. Miriam devoted her life to others, giving of herself to the students she served. Sr. Miriam served the students of Clinton County throughout the i950's and early 1960's. At Mater Dei Sister was the Assistant Principal and an English teacher. The School Sis- FRI/SAT 7;00 & 9:40 SuN-TRURS 7:00 SAT/SUN MAT 2:00 ters of Notre Dame offered their dedicated service to the stu- dents of Mater Dei since the beginning of the school. It is in the spirit of Sr. Miriam Coovert as well as her School Sister of Notre Dame community that this scholarship has been estab- lished. This scholarship is renewable and is being offered to allow stu- dents who have the potential to be a leader in and out of the classroom to attend Mater Dei Catholic High School,' whose mission is to provide an oppor- tunity to all students to deepen their faith in God and develop Gospel values in their daily lives. Programs like the Sr. Miriam Coovert Scholarship provide an opportunity to any student who wishes to pursue a Catholic sec- ondary education. In endowing a scholarship in honor of some- one special, Mr. and Mrs. Aloys Litteken challenge all alumni of Mater Dei to consider establish- ing a similar scholarship. These could be in memory of a deceased love one, in the name of an organization or parish, or to honor someone in a special way. The Littekens believe that investing in Mater Dei is invest- ing in Clinton County's most valuable asset. ::,/ Best Quality Color Copies on the Market I, at one-third less than the national chains AGF. 00RmF Call 588-C0PY Check outthe prices on these fine Preowned Vehicles/ 2002 Chevy Cavalier 4 door #A356 2002 Pontiac Sunfire 4 door 16xxx miles #P324 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 4 door 2 lxxxmiles #A348 2002 Pontiac Grand Am 4 door 2 lxxx miles #A349 2001 Monte Cado SS #A371 2001 Chevy Impala 29xxx miles rea//y sharp/ #A365 2001 Pontiac Grand Pfix GT 4 dr leather & sunroof #14013 $8,600 $8,500 $13,980 $11,980 $13,480 $11,300 $6,980 $11,500 $12,500 $6,580 2000 Chevy Cavalier LS 38xxx miles #A364 2000 Chevy Camaro t-tops #A305A 2000 Pontiac Firebird V8 & 6 spd #4891A 1999 Chevy Lumina #4824A 2000 Cavalier, 4 door #A363A 2000 Grand Prix GT, 2 door 17K miles #A374 2000 Grand Prix GT, 4 door 23t<: miles #/k361 2000 Grand P/n GT, 4 door 33K miles #A...'.'.'.'.'.'.'.0 2000 Grand Am GT, 2 door 29K miles #A376 2000 Grand Am, 4 door 43K miles, ex nk! 283B 2000 CAvy Malibu LS black #4746A 1998 Lumira #78A 1998 Malibu #317A 1996 Chrysler LHS #4970B 1994 Buick Century, 44xxx miles #180A PAGE 1 Stock #4987 Stock #II Stock #268 by often :: as our / : f: \\;V,; , : " ' / inventory changes almost every day/ CHEVROLET, INCa 55 5 North Madison Located Just Off New 50 in Trenton Stock #388 .
