He was born November 15, 1935 in Breese, son of Joseph and Margaret Toen- nies, nee Santel, and they preceded him in death. He married Julie T. Rak- ers on September 23, 1958 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston, and she survives at home. Also surviving are his children, Terry (Bon- nie) Toennies of Trenton, Ken (Gloria) Toennies of Trenton, Stanley Toen- nies of Aviston, Allen (spe- cial friend, Candi) Toen- nies of Carlyle, and Jim "Jock" "(Kara) Toennies of Albers; nine grandchil- dren, Nicole (Matt) Hell- mann, Megan Toennies, Lance Toennies, Larissa (fianc6, Mark Chapman) Toennies, Lacy Toennies, Joshua Toennies, Brittany Toennies, Jenna Toen- nies, and Kate Toennies; a great-grandchild, Owen Hellmann; brothers and sisters Alvin (Rita) Toen: nies of Damiansville, Marie (Greg) Niemeyer of Breese, Bernice "Bim" (Franklin) Fuehne of Damiansville, Jerry (Sharon) Toennies of Waterloo, Jan (Tom) Ever- sgerd of Germantown, and Germaine (Herb) Schulte of Trenton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Henry Albers of Damiansville, Bernette Toennies of Ger- mantown, Jane Toennies of Breese, Rita Kalmer of Damiansville, Delores Lan- genhorst of Beaver Prai- rie, Johanna Heimann of Fairview Heights, Jim and Marilyn Rakers of Aviston, and Charles Rakers of Aviston. In addition to his par- ents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Cletus Toennies, Joe Teen- nies and Norman Toennies; two sisters, Lucille Albers and Emma Toennies; and brothers-in-law and sis- ters-in-law Ben and Clara Rakers, Tony and Leona Rakers, Annie and Vincent Kalmer, A1 and Rita Rak- ers, Vic Kalmer, Mary "Sal- ly" and Robert Haselhorst, Vince Langenhorst, David Heimann and Dolores Rak- ers. Mr. Toennies was a dedi- cated employee of Aviston Lumber for 55 years. He was a veteran of the Unit- ed States Army. He was a member of St. George Par- ish in New Baden, Trenton Knights of Columbus Coun- cil 2932, Clinton County Baseball Hall of Fame, former member of the New Baden Chamber of Com- merce, and retired from the New Baden Volunteer Fire Department. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, Clin- ton County baseball, sports and gardening. The funeral was Monday from St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Gene Neff officiating. She married Norbert "Pete" Peters on Septem- ber 20, 1954 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ger- mantown, and he died De- cember 16, 1992. Other precedents includ- ed a sister, Dolores "Dol- ly" Bach; brothers Robert Haar, Lewis Haar, and Ed- win "Tracy" Haar; father- in-law and mother-in-law, John and Elizabeth Peters, nee Kuhl; and brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law Alvin Bach, Louise Haar, Alfred Mensing, Arthur Luebbers, Paul Santucci, Marcel Pe- ters, and Leonard Peters. Rolfingsmeier, 54, of Breese, died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at his home. Dorries 72, of Breese, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at his home. He was born September 28, 1941 in Breese, son of Lewis and Florence Dorries, nee Wehrmann, and they preceded him in death. He married Patricia A. Tierney on July 25, 1964 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Carlyle and she survives at home. Children, grandchildren, inlaws, other relatives, and friends also survive. Mr. Dorries was a fourth- generation lifelong employ- ee/dealer of Breese Motor Sales and was owner since 1977. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force Reserves.
